About The School

Text Box: In 1991, the government certified Nabha Deepti Pre-primary School in Baluwatar, Kathmandu, Nepal to provide private pre-primary instruction at the Nursery and Kindergarten levels. Initially it had 7 students of which 4 were orphans. Due to the increased demand, in 1999 the school was granted a charter to create a primary school and now has 67 students of which 51 are orphaned students.

Situated in the heart of the capital city Kathmandu, the School aims to provide quality education in the English medium to children of middle class people as well as offer scholarships to orphans, disadvantaged and indigent children. The school tuition fees and other charges are comparatively low and affordable for middle class students. The standard of education of this school is good enough for our students to pass the primary levels and move into post primary education.

Text Box: Under the direction of Principal Poonam Lama, M.A., the Deepti school now has seven qualified, trained and experienced teachers who also impart singing, dancing, fine arts, sports and games, lessons, and classes.

Keeping in mind the large number of children orphaned during the armed conflicts that lasted more than ten years between the government and opposing political party (the Maoists), the School has adopted the policy of accepting more disadvantaged and orphaned students.

To the goals of providing a quality education, the Deepti School functions under the guidance, directives and suggestions of a Working Committee composed of a Chair, the Principal, a Faculty Representative, a Parent Advocate, a Municipal Representative, and a Medical Advisor.
