Nepal Will Lead You

Testimonials

Text Box: We visited three of the orphanages in the area and I cried...........I cried because the smiling faces of these beautiful children touched my heart and a piece of it broke. There are no words to explain, it's something you need to see for yourself, and these are the lucky ones. One orphanage had 27 children living in in two tiny rooms with a woman doing her very best to care for them to the point where they even slept on the floor of her own tiny room, and these are the lucky ones for there are many on the streets with nowhere at all to go, young girls barely big enough to hold the small babies in their arms let alone know how to provide for them.
These children danced and sang for us, and the hospitality at Hem's school was overwhelming. This project is truly worthy of our support because they are making a real difference step by step by step and that is all it takes to reach the top of the Himalayas one step at a time. That's what these amazing people showed me, that I too can make a difference that there is a child or two or three or four whose lives I can change, yes! little 'ol me...... I can give them a chance for something better by sponsoring their education and it costs so little.......... £120 a year .....yes that's right it's not a typing error £120 or $200 I think. That's the price of a meal for two, two full tanks of petrol, a couple of hair appointments for the likes of you and me ......
There's room on this planet for a few more amazing people like Hem Lama and his family, and if you are reading this, then I'm inviting you to be an amazing person too. You can start by sponsoring a child........or two and help change someone’s life for the better, help them to help themselves, and give hope to Nepal for the future.

Text Box: Sharing Thoughts from Evelyn McMillen

Mike and I had a very amazing and heartfelt journey to Nepal...It is heartbreaking to see the conditions in which people live but somehow still manage a smile on their face and a sparkle in their eye. Seeing poverty all around us as we traveled in the country made us re-evaluate what is important and how very fortunate and lucky we are. We will appreciate everything we have on a higher level and the trip has ignited a fire within us to make more of a difference in a person's life; especially a child's life.
Our relationship with Sujay Lama, the current UNT Women's Tennis Coach inspired and guided us to visit his country. Sujay is very passionate about his homeland and in 2003 started a program to provide scholarships for Nepalese orphans; his goal was to build a school for them. The school has become a reality, Nabha Deepti School…
This experience has inspired us to help and to share with others. We met Sujay's father and sister, visited the school, talked with the teachers and watched the most wonderful sweet dances performed by the students. Children are so special and have similar needs and want to please no matter where they may live.
Nepal's future and hope rests with these children. Thank you for letting me share this part of our incredible trip. It has touched Mike and I for our lifetime.
